Brian Parlin took over as head wrestling coach in 2007 and is a graduate of Austin Pacelli high school. Coach Parlin’s wrestling accomplishments include being a four-time Big 9 All Conference selection, three-time Section 1 champion, and a two-time state place winner. He was also a captain on the cross country and baseball teams,and was an All Conference selection in both sports. Coach Parlin went on to wrestle in college at RCTC where he was a two-time MN NJCAA state champion at 157 pounds and a NJCAA national tournament qualifier in 2001 and 2002. He was an assistant coach at RCTC during the 2004-05 season, has been a freestle/greco-roman coach in Austin and has also coached the MN Storm team.
Assistant Coaches:
Tom Giordano has been an assistant coach at JM and John Adams middle school since 2003 and has been the head middle school coach since the 2006 season. He will again assume that role this year. Most recently, Giordano headed up the JM wrestling fundraising drive to outfit the new wrestling room.
Kent Kaupa started as an assistant coach at JM in 2007. He coached for over 20 years at Lake Crystal/Wellcome/Memorial, 5 of which he was the head coach. As a head coach, Kaupa took his LCWM team to state in 1998 placing 3rd.
Rick Robison has been a member of the JM coaching staff since 1998 and is the longest tenured coach. Robison has also been active as a coach for RYWA over the years.
Rick Ties began coaching at JM as an assistant in 2007. He is a graduate of RCTC and UW-Lacrosse where he participated in wrestling for both schools. Ties was a two-time NJCAA national qualifier. He was the coach of Lacrosse's club team for a year, and had been an assistant for Mayo HS for two years.
Mike Woltman started on the JM coaching staff in 2007. He has been an assistant coach for many area schools. He graduated from Owatonna and also coached there for 11 years. Most recently, he was an assistant coach at Rochester Century for 3 years.
